Our Story
Empowering change for a brighter tomorrow
Sharon Rouls began weaving Your Career Tapestry after serving as a volunteer with various mentoring programs. Many students at the elementary and middle school levels stated they didn’t have a School Counselor so their opportunities for post-secondary exploration were limited. High School students communicated they didn’t meet with their High School Counselors on a regular basis. This also led to uncertainty about how to pursue the post-secondary opportunities they desired or knowledge of available options.
Your Career Tapestry provides students with a career exploration program crafted to help them reach their goals. Our programs and workshops include experiential opportunities, such as setting S.M.A.R.T. goals, learning about their personality through a Student Success Report, conflict resolution skills, practicing mindfulness, self-regulation through yoga, preparing cover letters, resumes, participating in mock interviews and much more!
In addition to the support provided to students, Your Career Tapestry also provides personal and professional development to adults both within and outside educational settings. We offer workshops, seminars, masterminds, and coaching tailored to the needs of our clients, in-person as well as on virtual platforms.
Our goal is to serve our clients with quality products that positively impact their lives leading to life and career fulfillment.
School counselors and professional recruiters have a limited amount of time to devote to career exploration. This leaves many young students, as well as seasoned professionals wanting more support to advance their career goals. Your Career Tapestry programming fills that gap.

Your Career Tapestry is a non-profit organization providing career exploration and development services for under-resourced youth and growth-minded professionals. We equip them with the tools they need to successfully navigate high school and life beyond it, to help them find career success and long-term fulfillment.
We were founded by Sharon Rouls, a John C. Maxwell certified career coach, speaker, and trainer. She has dedicated over three decades of her life to helping others seek and find career advancement and personal success.
Sharon is surrounded by a wide network of counselors, teachers, recruiters, and coaches that share her passion for helping others attain personal and professional growth.

Partnership For Resilience Community Grant
Partnership For Resilience is partnering with the Illinois School Board of Education to support recovery from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result of Community Partnership Grant funding, Partnership for Resilience can offer supportive programming to partnering school districts and communities across Illinois; including Your Career Tapestry.
